Buy two blank journals, his and hers. In book and specialty gift shops, you can find beautiful fabric-covered journals for less than twenty dollars and leather-bound versions for less than fifty. Or buy blank books and create your own covers. This is the modern couple’s version of the Pillow Books you started some weeks ago—less art, more technique.

Some suggestions for journaling:

• Write about your sexual encounters in graphic detail.

• Paste in reviews of sexy books, recipes for special meals, and clippings of erotic stories or sex articles.

• Add sketches and drawings of favorite positions and practices if you have artistic talent, or collect erotic postcards and paste them in.
