Angelica Kauffmann

(1741 Chur – 1807 Rome)

Angelica Kauffmann was a Swiss painter, although she was also a great musician. Her early works were influenced by the French Rococo whereas her later were more influenced by the Neoclassical, especially when she visited Italy. She was a prolific painter of portraits, and her portraits of female sitters are certainly her finest works.
