ABOUT THE AUTHOR

GARY LOVISI is a Brooklyn-based author and science fiction fan who was inspired early in life by the John Carter of Mars books—and all the great works of Edgar Rice Burroughs—which he first read as a teenager in the 1960s. In his Jon Kirk of Ares Chronicles, he seeks to capture the sense of wonder, rousing pulsepounding action, and strange adventures on alien worlds, that made Burroughs’ classic books so much fun to read. Lovisi has written in all genres of fiction, from short stories to novels; and non-fiction about authors, artists, and book collecting. He edits Paperback Parade magazine and founded Gryphon Books. He was short-listed for a Mystery Writers of America Edgar Award for the Best Short Story of the Year, and received a Spur Award from the Western Writers of America. Lovisi’s first Jon Kirk of Ares novel, The Winged-Men was published by Wildside Press in 2014. Now with these two latest original novels in the series from Wildside Press: The Invisible Men (#2) and The Space Men (#3), the Jon Kirk of Ares Chronicles is off and running, with more original novels planned. MARCUS BOAS is a New York City illustrator, and a master of vivid fantasy and science fiction art. His use of striking colors and heroic images in his art dazzles all who view it. ABOUT THE MAPMAKER

LUCILLE CALI is a Brooklyn, New York free-lance artist whose map of Ares is based upon the original map first drawn by the author in 1971, when he wrote the first book in the Jon Kirk of Ares Chronicles. Cali has done numerous covers for various Gryphon Books as well as issues of Hardboiled magazine and is a very versatile artist.
