In its original state Boy in The Well was something of a shambles, and I’m indebted to Russel McLean, who helped sort through the morass, bringing order and focus to the narrative.
The first publisher of the Westphall series folded – we shall not dwell on such matters – and for a while the series was lost. History became legend, legend became myth, and for two and a half thousand years, the series passed out of all knowledge. Fortunately it was rescued by Mulholland, and for that I thank everyone there, and in particular Ruth for giving me the time when I first approached, and Cicely, for her advice and for being such an enthusiastic advocate.
And, more than anyone, I’d like to thank Kathryn, without whom neither this, nor any of my other books, would ever have been written, never mind published.
