Provides percutaneous protection against chemical and biological (CB) warfare agents to personnel who serve as crew members on armored vehicles.
The Joint CB Coverall for Combat Vehicle Crewmen (JC3) is a lightweight, one-piece, flame-resistant (FR), CB protective coverall that resembles a standard Combat Vehicle Crewman (CVC) coverall. The JC3 may be worn over, or in lieu of, the CVC duty uniform in a CB environment. It resists ignition and provides thermal protection to allow emergency egress. The JC3 is not degraded by exposure to petroleum, oils, and lubricants present in the operational environment. The JC3 is compatible and provides complete percutaneous and respiratory protection when worn with current and developmental protective masks and mask accessories, headgear, gloves/mittens, footwear, and other CVC ancillary equipment (e.g., Spall vest).
