Vegetation
The natural world is the original bearer of signs and messages. Throughout the world such things as plants, trees, rocks, the skies, and the weather have been the medium through which the spirit realm has offered guidance and comfort to humanity. Although many signs and messages now also appear through more contemporary things and occurrences, spirit beings still communicate through the natural world.
Berries
Encountering berries on a vine is a message of abundance, prosperity, and plans coming to fruition. Green, unripe berries are a sign to wait and be patient. What you desire is in the formation stage. Berries that are ripe and falling off the vine are a sign to not waste time or procrastinate. Take action on a goal or project and accept an opportunity or invitation.
Cactus
A cactus symbolizes emotional hurt, feeling slighted, or feeling that you have been treated unfairly. It is a message you have the inner resources and love to go it alone if necessary and to heal.
A blooming cactus is a sign of joy and happiness after a period of isolation or difficulties.
Clover
Clover is a positive sign of the mystical union of the divine and human realms. It is a message that however mundane your current situation may appear, your soul is working out important karmic issues. Act with pure intent and trust in positive outcomes.
Dandelions
Dandelions are a message to be tenacious and determined. There is a refined power within you that is seeking expression.
A white, fluffy dandelion is a message of wishes coming true. Embrace the childlike belief in miracles and allow one to come into your life.
Flowers
Flowers are a sign of joy, truth, happiness, and abundance. Flowers, like birds and butterflies, are often divine messages from a loved one on the other side or an angel or spirit guide. The color and type of the flower will reveal more of its message (see Colors).
Chrysanthemums
Chrysanthemums are a sign of surprises and the unexpected coming your way. This is a time to shed limiting beliefs and make new discoveries about yourself and the world around you.
Daffodils
Daffodils are a symbol of new love and balancing emotional give-and-take. They can imply giving too much in a relationship or the need to show another how much you care.
Daisies
The daisy is symbolic of purity, innocence, patience, and simplicity. Encountering daisies is a message to draw from these qualities and let go of expectations. Something unexpected is coming your way or will be offered to you that might not initially seem to be what you want or what you are looking for; however, in time you will recognize this as a true gift.
Honeysuckle
Honeysuckle is a sign of magnetism, confidence, and irresistible charm in yourself or in another. It is a message that you have the ability to influence and sway people.
Lavender
A sign of purity, virtue, love, and protection, lavender is a message to let go of negativity and false ideas about yourself and others, and listen to the pure voice of your spirit. Lavender brings you the assurance that grace is at work in your life.
Lilies
Lilies are a sign of rebirth and renewal after challenges and hardships. They are also a symbol of sensitivity and healing ability.
Roses
Roses bring you the message of deep love, romance, and compassion. They can also signify psychic and divination ability. The color of the rose will also reveal more of its meaning.
Sunflowers
A sign of strength and improvement, sunflowers signal the beginning of a prosperous period. Trust your vision of the future and act with faith.
Violets
Violets represent joy and bliss and are a message to become more social and active. This is good time to meet new people.
Waterlilies
A waterlily is a sign of enlightenment, truth, and psychic energy. From the depths of self, your soul is speaking to you. Listen within; your higher self is directing and guiding you.
Withering Flowers
Flowers that are withering and dropping their petals outside of season are a sign of letting go and moving beyond who you believe yourself to be. Aspects of yourself, behaviors, or personality traits that no longer serve you need to be shed.
Garden
Encountering a flower garden with many different kinds of flowers is a positive sign of abundance and fulfillment. It is also a message of love from your loved ones on the other side, your angels, and nature spirits.
A vegetable garden is a sign of nourishment and support from nature spirits. It might also be a message of love from a loved one on the other side who enjoyed gardening.
Lawn
Lawns represent the part of ourselves that we show the world and how we interact with others. They can be a message of pride and of social convention.
Dead Grass
A yard with dead grass is a sign of worries, stress, and financial fears. It may be a message to look to a higher power and presence for support and nurturing.
Manicured Lawn
A well-manicured landscaped lawn is a sign of order and respect and attention to detail. It may be a message to express these qualities in your dealings with others. It may also be a message to cultivate and refine the more rebellious and emotionally charged aspects of your personality.
Overgrown
A yard with overgrown weeds is a sign to discern what is important and of value to you and what is not. It may be a message that you are unclear as to your priorities. Be true to yourself and trust what your heart tells you.
Tall Grass
Healthy, tall grass may be a sign of increase, possibly financial, and the ability to influence others. It may also indicate a free spirit and a time of growth.
Moss
Moss is a sign that you may be dependent on something or someone or that someone is overly dependent on you. If you are feeling tired and lack enthusiasm, look at what may be draining your inner resources. Take responsibility for yourself and be careful that you don’t try to overdo it and take on too much.
Mushrooms
Mushrooms are a sign of something hidden and unknown. It is a message to be cautious before making a decision. This is not the time to jump in. Take your time as more will soon be revealed.
Rocks
Rocks and boulders are a message of strength, being grounded, and may indicate a solid idea or project. In relationships or career issues, they can be a sign of a strong foundation or steadfast connection.
Smaller stones or pebbles are a sign of the need to put effort into building a solid relationship with another or into a business or enterprise. Small rocks may also indicate proceeding carefully and the possibility of minor issues and irritations.
Trees
Many nature spirits and other spiritual beings inhabit trees. They are pillars that move energy from the deep earth to the skies and back again. Trees are a sign of the full spectrum of life: the past, present, and future. They are the bearers of wisdom and knowledge and the protectors of all living things. A tree can be a message about the individual self, health, and the mind, body, and spirit connection.
Birch
Birch trees are a message to be creative and open to new ways of doing things. Be adaptable and at the same time hold on to your inner vision and goals. The birch can also be a sign that your energy and enthusiasm is contagious. This is the time to trust your actions and move forward.
Evergreen
Evergreen trees are natural conductors of intuitive and psychic energy. They may be a sign from your spirit guides or from nature spirits to listen within and trust your intuitive abilities. Evergreens are also guardians who offer protection and shelter in stressful times. They can be a sign of your need to recharge yourself or to remain on your present course. This is not the time for change.
Falling Tree
A tree falling close by is a sign of transformation and coming change. Nature spirits may be sending you powerful energy from the tree’s roots to prepare you for what is to come. Seeing a tree fall naturally is a special gift of power.
Flowering Tree
A flowering tree is a sign of opportunities, new beginnings, and a fresh start to a project, relationship, or career.
A flowering tree whose blossoms have already fallen to the ground is a sign that an opportunity may be passing you by. It is time to take action.
Fruit Tree
Fruit trees with ripe fruit are a sign that your efforts will yield abundance and success.
A fruit tree with rotten fruit is a warning that what looks promising may not yield a positive outcome. Do not be misled by appearances.
If a fruit tree has flowers, it is a message that you are entering a new cycle of substantial change and opportunity.
Group of Trees
A group of trees of the same species is a message of partnerships and group consciousness. Listen to others’ knowledge and learn through their experiences. It may also be a message to support others and share your wisdom and knowledge with them.
A natural grove of different varieties of trees and other vegetation is a sign to be yourself and resist the pressure to conform to social norms or other expectations. It may also be a message to allow others to be who they are.
Limb on Ground
A dead tree limb on the ground is a sign of being cut off from and out of touch with your power or your inner truth. This is a message to listen within and trust your thoughts and feelings. While others may have an opinion and try to offer guidance and suggestions, you will not know what is right for you until you feel it from within.
Magnolia
Magnolia trees are a sign of nobility and the ability to confront obstacles with a calm and centered will and determination. Magnolia blossoms or flowers are a sign of beauty and grace, a divine kiss of kindness.
Maple
Maple trees are a sign that someone or something may be coming your way that offers you affection, stimulation, and kindness. It is a message to find and enjoy the sweetness in life.
Oak
Oak trees are a sign of longevity, strength, and practical help. Follow through and devote yourself to existing plans.
Palm
Palm trees are a sign of prosperity and success. They may be a message of a coming promotion or reward of some kind. If the palm tree is growing in a container it is a message to break free of your current situation as your growth and progress is limited.
Single Tree
A single tree represents a single individual or situation. A healthy tree with full foliage is a positive sign of good health, strength, and may be a message to hold your power and express your authentic self. Stand tall and be you.
A single sickly looking tree may indicate an unpromising project or idea and may be a message to take better care of your health.
Weeds
Weeds and overgrown areas of vegetation are a message to become aware of and root out negative thoughts, criticism, and judgments.
Flowering weeds are a sign of something positive emerging from past difficulties and challenges.
