About the Author

D M Macdonald writes witty, edge of the seat thrillers.

Before she was a writer she was a professional actress, a psychiatric nurse, a sculptor and a mum. She now writes the kind of books she has always loved.

Throughout her life she has been inspired by the courage of people who've suffered the darkest of times and overcome them and triumphed.

That's why her characters are ordinary people facing extraordinary challenges. There's always a bit of romance and humour hanging about too. After all what is life without love and laughter.

When her early writing career stalled due to illness she used short fiction and plays to jump start her career. She won many awards with these, but returned to the novel in 2018. She has continued writing non stop from there.

Now a grandmother she has written two children's novels, nine full length adult novels and one novella with plans for many more. It has been a long journey but with her sense of humour and her love of a rollicking yarn plus the help of her two siamese cats she too has triumphed.

Her other great loves are flying and tennis. Indeed, her preferred end is to drop dead on the court aged 101.
