When I sat down to write Change Of Momentum, I knew I was writing the story of two people who had survived some of the most horrific experiences a human could survive, namely war and the loss of their loved ones. For anyone to move past those kinds of traumas and be able to embrace a better future requires that they address what happened. For Rowena, who was groomed by a sadist to take his place, this means looking at what she could have become.
Chapter Eighteen contains a frank discussion that touches on the topics of abuse, torture, emotional abuse, and sexual assault. While it is important to the character’s emotional journey, I would encourage readers who may be sensitive to these topics to skip over that section of the book. Your mental health and wellbeing is more important than a story, and you’ll be able to catch up in the following chapters.
