James V. Spickard is Professor of Sociology at the University of Redlands, where he teaches courses on social theory, the sociology of religion, research design, and social inequality. He is also President of the International Sociological Association’s Research Committee on the Sociology of Religion. He has published widely on religion’s role in contemporary society, on non-Western social theories, on social research, and on human rights. He is working on a book on religion’s future.
