DEEPAK MALHOTRA IS THE Eli Goldston Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School, where he teaches negotiation courses in a wide variety of programs. Deepak has won numerous awards for his teaching, including the HBS Faculty Award and the Charles M. Williams Award. In 2014, Deepak was chosen by Poets & Quants to be among their “40 under 40,” a listing of the world’s best business school professors under the age of 40.
Deepak’s first book (with Max Bazerman), Negotiation Genius, was awarded the 2008 Outstanding Book Award by the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution. His second book, I Moved Your Cheese, was a Wall Street Journal best seller and has sold translation rights in over 20 languages. Deepak’s research on negotiation and dispute resolution has been published in top journals in the fields of management, psychology, conflict resolution, and foreign policy.
Deepak’s professional activities include training, consulting, and advisory work in the areas of negotiation and deal making for firms across the globe. His advisory work in the area of policy focuses primarily on helping governments negotiate an end to armed conflicts. Deepak also teaches a course on negotiation, as a visiting professor, in the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford.
