Ilyse & Hallie

This book would not have been possible without the enthusiasm of our agent, Linda Konner. Linda, thank you for encouraging us to stay true to our vision and for always having our backs. We are forever grateful. To Nicole Frail, our editor extraordinaire, whose guidance and careful attention to detail helped bring this book to life. We are so appreciative of your patience, especially through our hyphen and spacing obsessions! And to Mike Onorato for his excitement and passion. Mike, we are so lucky to have you part of the Scoop team.

A heartfelt thank you to Ronni Rich, Rochelle Polsky, and Toni Wiener for going above and beyond in reading (and rereading) every word in this book. Your edits were always spot on, especially when pointing out our overuse of commas or particular words and phrases. To Mike, Evan, Barrie, Aaron, Robin P., Hallie G., Stefani, Melissa, Karen, Robin F., Kate, Sheryl, Erin, Liz, Hillary, Sloane, Janell, Alan, Amber, Kirstin, Kistie, Diane, Joanne, and Jen for all of your invaluable feedback. Your advice and comments were integral to this book, and all your encouragement helped us reach the finish line.

To Michelle Beadle, we are so honored that you wrote our foreword. We are so flattered by your generous words and are so thankful that you were there for us from the beginning of this journey. Your sense of humor is contagious, and working with you has been a blast.

To Joy Bauer, we are humbled by your support. You are an inspiration to us, as you help so many lead healthier lives. We only hope that a scoop here and there will help us follow in your footsteps.

Our sincere gratitude to Toby Amidor, Joel Harper, and Angie Harmon. You are all the top in your respective fields, and we are so fortunate for your praise.

To Stephen Costello, for your expert advice and thorough guidance. You helped us navigate through this crazy world of publishing and for that we are incredibly grateful.

To Melissa Schiller, for introducing us and realizing our synergy before we did. This book would not have been possible without your matchmaking skills. For both of us, you are the definition of a true friend, and we love you!

Thank you to Brian Marcus and Fred Marcus Photography for being the best in the biz and for making us look good.

We also thank our awesome interns for all of their hard work: Catherine Staffieri, Lauren Sharpe, Ashley Sobel, and Maycee Nicholas. You all have very bright futures ahead of you!

Ilyse

To Hallie: “A dream without a plan is just a wish.” Thank you for dreaming that we could do this. It is our combined strength that made our vision a reality. It’s amazing how well we work together. Whenever one of us felt like there was no end in sight, the other pushed forward. I couldn’t have asked for a better writing partner . . . and friend. This is only the beginning!

To my loving husband, Evan, thank you for believing in me from the beginning. I would not be the woman I am today without your constant support and encouragement.

To Riley and Perri, my two beautiful girls: thank you for your patience and understanding while I wrote. I strive to be a role model for the two of you and show you that you can achieve anything. Girls rule, and I love you!

To my wonderful parents Marlene and Bob: thank you for teaching me that anything can be accomplished if you put your mind to it.

This book would not have been possible without the incredible Barbara Brown, who exhibits such love and concern for my children day after day. And to Hannah Sloane, who spent so many hours entertaining my girls while I snuck in a few hours of writing.

To all of my friends who cheered me on as I opened my practice and wrote this book. You know who you are, and you mean the world to me . . .

And, of course, a huge thank-you to my clients. I would not have had the confidence to write this book without each and every one of you. Thank you for making me a part of your lives and in believing that a life full of health is something we can achieve together.

Hallie

To Ilyse: There is no one else I could have or would have wanted to write this book with. We laughed, we danced, and we cried while working on this book, but it never (okay, almost never) felt like work. This book has been life-changing and you have become more than my coauthor but my life-long friend.

To my husband, Mike. Since the day we met through our first year of marriage, this book has always been on my to-do list. Yet, instead of making me feel guilty, you were my biggest champion. Thank you for your unending support, patience and encouragement. You are my best friend, my true love, and I am honored to be your wife. Love you more.

To my mom, Ronni, and sister, Barrie: Thank you doesn’t seem like enough. You have always believed in me and my crazy dreams and have never stopped cheering me on. There are no words to adequately describe how much I love you both and how much you mean to me.

A huge thank-you to the family I was born into and the family I married into for your all of your love. You are all so special to me and make me feel like I won the lotto twice.

To all of my friends: thank you for still loving me despite disappearing for long chunks of time while I wrote this book. I am so lucky to have the greatest friends and support system.

To Robin Fromme for being so trustworthy and someone I can always count on. Thanks for all of your help as I know I put on a lot on your shoulders while I had to focus on this book.

To Mel, my mentor and my father. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t miss you, but I carry you with me in everything that I do. I was so fortunate to work beside you and see how you so effortlessly combined your passion and intelligence to make a difference in the supplement industry. I was even luckier, though, to have you as my father and am so grateful for all of the life lessons you instilled upon me.
