Create Your Own Definition of Self-Care

What comes to mind when you think about self-care? Let me guess—some version of treat yo’ self, including bubble baths and roses and glasses of wine and big bowls of ice cream and expensive massages. Maybe all of those things sound absolutely wonderful, and you can’t wait. Or maybe you’re more into the nap scene with a side of Cheetos and no emails to answer. Or maybe you like the concept of self-care, but you certainly don’t have the funds or the time or the lifestyle or the energy to indulge like that.

I’ve been there. For something so seemingly straightforward, self-care can be sort of confusing, especially if you’re always looking for a picture-perfect moment or feeling. Instead I think it’s useful to determine your own definition of self-care so you can build out certain tactics and behaviors to use when you’re needing a little love. We’ll dive into how you can craft that definition as well as how you can schedule self-care into your ongoing routine.
