CHALLENGE #8:

Stay Curious, Not Furious

I once heard Adam Carroll, a transformational speaker and financial expert, speak at a work retreat about fixed and growth mind-sets, a concept dissected by all sorts of teachers and doctors and professional coaches. But he mentioned a phrase that stuck with me: stay curious, not furious. In all of our relationships, he continued, some modicum of conflict or discomfort is healthy and expected; however, when you’re at odds with someone or run into negativity in your own state of mind, it’s best to foster a reaction of curiosity. Because that’s how you learn and grow, even if growing in that particular moment (or in that particular way) doesn’t look exactly how you planned.
