Health

If a silver bullet solution existed for health, then I wouldn’t be writing this section—and the entire healthcare industry would cease to exist, along with the millions of books and articles and experts out there, because everyone would be, well, healthy. Of course, the reality is that human beings get sick and injured all the time, and while medicine and technology have improved vastly in the past few centuries, people will still continue to get sick to some degree. You can approach everything “right” in terms of health and still run into health challenges. Which may seem fatalistic—I mean, nobody lives forever, so you might as well eat buckets of French fries, smoke a pack a day, stay up late every night, and never move your body, right? Well, maybe not.

However, I do believe health is wealth, and there are certain basic activities or strategies that best serve nearly everyone in the long run. In this part you’ll learn about practicing yoga and meditation, finding time to work out, eating less sugar and drinking more water, getting enough sleep, and meal planning. We’ll also talk about the importance of knowing your health history, appreciating your body, and defining what self-care looks like for you.
