Additional Trails
The Three Forks cutoff trail descends for 4.4 miles from the Deer Park auto campground to the Three Forks shelter, which is near the intersection of the Gray Wolf River and Cameron Pass Trails.
The Elk Mountain cutoff trail is an extremely steep path that connects Elk Mountain with the Badger Valley.
The Deer Ridge Trail connects Deer Park and Slab Camp via a ridgetop route.
The Slab Camp Trail descends from Forest Road 2875 down a steady grade to reach the Gray Wolf River Trail at mile 4.9.
The Mount Zion Trail rises from the clear-cuts near Bon Jon Pass to reach the top of a summit that stands apart from the rest of the range. There are good displays of rhododendron blossoms in early July and views of Puget Sound and the Cascade Range through the vegetation.
The Maynard Burn way trail is an abandoned route up Mount Baldy. It is hard to find early on and is extremely steep throughout.
The Gold Creek Trail was built to motorbike standards and has lots of rhododendrons. Horse parties can combine this trail with the Lower Dungeness Trail, which follows clear-cut bottomlands, for a loop trip.
The Dirtyface Ridge–Little Quilcene Trail provides an alternate trek to Mount Townsend and is well suited to hiking.
The Lower Big Quilcene Trail is a favorite with horseback riders and traverses logged bottomlands.
