When I wrote the earliest column that appears in this book Tony Blair was prime minister, and the most recent column to be included was written on the day that Theresa May announced her resignation.
The book therefore covers sixteen years of political news and it isn’t possible to include an article about every significant controversy during that period. However, I do want to give a flavour of the big political issues that made the news and prompted me to express a view.
This final section, which begins with Mr Blair’s return in 2005, therefore includes columns on some of the major political developments, including the rise and fall of David Cameron, the singular politics of Jeremy Corbyn and, naturally, Brexit.
