General - Part 4

  1. Johnny and one-time girlfriend Vanessa Paradis once owned a Vineyard in a small village just north of Saint Tropez.
  2. Johnny co-owned a restaurant-bar in Paris, which was formally a cinema. It has since been changed into a Lobster café.
  3. In an interview Johnny “It’s a strange profession where the prize for success is house arrest, isn’t it?” when referring to his home and calmer lifestyle in Paris.
  4. Whilst filming Pirates of the Caribbean, Johnny fell in love with the laid-back lifestyle in the Bahamas and set about buying his own private Island - he did just that and bought Little Halls Pond Cay.
  5. Johnny named one of its six beaches Gonzo after Hunter S. Thompson.
  6. Depp owns a 156-foot luxury yacht called Vajoliroja - the first two letters of each of the members of his family. It has enough accommodation for ten guests, and requires a crew of eight.
  7. The yacht is available for charter for a reported $200,000 (£130,000) a week.
  8. One film director has reported that the secret to signing Johnny is finding him...
  9. Whilst filming for The Rum Diary, Johnny had managed to quit smoking for two and a half years and smoked fake ones - which he said smelt like a tyre burning.
  10. Sadly however, Johnny’s habit came rushing back the moment he persuaded Bruce Robinson to give him a ‘bang’ during their flight on a private plane (you can smoke on a private plane) which he said makes for an incredibly expensive habit.
