- Johnny named one of its six beaches Gonzo after Hunter S. Thompson.
- Depp owns a 156-foot luxury yacht called Vajoliroja - the first two letters of each of the members of his family. It has enough accommodation for ten guests, and requires a crew of eight.
- The yacht is available for charter for a reported $200,000 (£130,000) a week.
- One film director has reported that the secret to signing Johnny is finding him...
- Whilst filming for The Rum Diary, Johnny had managed to quit smoking for two and a half years and smoked fake ones - which he said smelt like a tyre burning.
