C. Leigh Broadhurst, PhD, is a geochemist and geo-botanist for a US government agricultural research center and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park. She is an expert in environmental remediation and trace elements in the environment and food supply. She has published in the fields of anthropological nutrition, type 2 diabetes, and the role of polyunsaturated fats in human intelligence. Dr. Broadhurst has also been a scientific consultant to the natural products industry for twenty years and is a popular lecturer and talk show guest. She lives in Maryland and North Carolina with her husband, two children, and two dogs.
