Men in Blazers are Roger Bennett and Michael Davies, two men whose paths first crossed during short, mediocre, ultimately tragic football careers in the late 1940s. Their athletic apex was being fringe squad players on the England team that bravely lost 1–0 to the United States at the 1950 World Cup. Rog then spent four decades bouncing between the merchant navy and the Mossad. Davo became a nightclub owner and noted ornithologist in Marrakech. The pair reunited in 2009 after having a fender bender, and subsequent fistfight, on the streets of SoHo, New York. They agreed to salvage their relationship by attempting to pivot into careers as twin bald back-of-head models, but work was slow. So they started a podcast about football, love, First World War poetry, kitchen hardware, Scotch, and death. It has become quite popular.
