ANGELA ZUTAVERN is a vice president at Booz Allen Hamilton, where she is an expert in the leadership, transformation, and innovation philosophies underlying the mathematical corporation. She is an inventor of the machine intelligence and data science strategies that are now helping hundreds of business and government organizations make better decisions and gain competitive advantages.

Zutavern led Booz Allen’s most advanced data science R&D efforts, including in the areas of deep learning and quantum machine learning. She is passionate about data science for social good and helped create the Data Science Bowl, a first-of-its-kind, world-class competition to solve global issues through machine intelligence.

A frequent speaker on the future power of data science to media, academia, and industry, she convenes the Chief Data Officer (CDO) Council for the US federal government community. She is also actively involved in strengthening diversity and inclusion, especially in technology, and is an enthusiastic champion of women in data science.

Zutavern has worked with clients in every major US government cabinet-level department as well as in sublevel agencies. In addition, she has advised many Fortune 500 companies and led teams across every major industry. She earned her bachelor of science degree in industrial and systems engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and her MBA from Southern Methodist University. She also serves on the board of directors of the ICE Foundation.
