for cleaning rock mulch
Old rock mulch gets mixed with dirt and leaves and looks terrible. To clean it up, make a garden sifter to separate the rocks from the debris. Build a 2x4 frame and fasten hardware cloth to the bottom with fence staples. Then elevate the sifter on old bricks and use a power washer to clean each shovelful of rocks. You could use a hose or shake the rocks on the sifter (but that’s a lot more work!).
