Chapter Twenty-Nine
Kate
5. Talk dirty with each other.
20. Video-call whenever possible.
Sonya had done the Walk of Shame late afternoon. She came home in last night’s party dress and carrying her shoes. After shutting the door, she looked at me and said, “I hate you.”
“What did I do?” I asked, laughing.
“You look rested and very much not hung-over.”
“Your assessment is correct.” Though my muscles were sore from the night of sex. I needed to build endurance in my thighs if I ever moved in with Sam.
“Like I said. Hate you,” she grumbled.
“Go take a shower.”
A groan and she disappeared into the bathroom. I got to work in the kitchen making a hangover cure. Hydration and B vitamins.
Hoped Pete looked better than my bestie right now.
Once she was settled in bed for the night, I heated a can of soup for dinner and retreated to my room to wait for Sam’s call. Propped my laptop on a pillow on the bed to play a movie.
It was after nine here when the video chat made the sound of an incoming call. I paused what I was watching and brought up the window. Accepted the invite, and Sam popped up on my screen. He wore a t-shirt and sweatpants and sat on his bed.
“Can you hear me?”
“Yeah. Can you hear and see me?” I moved the computer onto my lap.
“Tilt the screen back a bit. Perfect. Close to the camera, I couldn’t see your face.”
“Hey.”
“Hey.” He looked tired. “I just got the kids in bed. Sorry I didn’t call or text sooner.”
“It’s okay. I wasn’t expecting you.”
“Yeah.” He rubbed his face with his hands. “It took me nearly two hours to get home, then Mom insisted on making dinner. I skipped baths. Just brushed their teeth and put them down for the night. And then unpacked and called you.”
“Are you one of those people that can’t relax until you’ve taken care of your suitcase?”
“Guilty.”
“You’re so civilized now as an old dude.”
“Old?”
“Older than me.”
“By a month.” He was a March baby and I was born in April.
I shrugged. “Still counts.”
“You’re wearing your Christmas gift.” The gold Love Overcomes pendant.
My fingers played with the chain. “It’s been on since yesterday, but you were too focused on other things to notice.”
A dirty grin, then. “Guilty again.” His gaze dropped to my breasts and my nipples pebbled in response.
“How did the kids handle you being away?”
“Fine. They had Mom.”
“She was up for full-time babysitting already?”
“I had a nanny stay with her.”
My jaw dropped. “And you’re still alive. I’m impressed.”
He laughed. “Under the guise of not taking up all the time in Mom’s vacation before school is back in session. The nanny was still there when I arrived, so I think Mom was secretly glad she had help.”
“She’ll never admit it, though.
“Oh no.” Wide-eyed and shaking his head. “Since she knew where I went, she asked about us.”
“Ah.” So Jane knows.
“I didn’t share details, Kate.”
“I know.”
“Mom couldn’t grill me. The kids think I was on a business trip.”
“Smart.”
“I did hear what you said about keeping them out of a relationship until it’s serious.”
“And you didn’t know how the trip would go!”
A grin. A shrug. “Eh, I was pretty confident.”
“Oh really.”
“Seventy-thirty.” He see-sawed his hand.
“Seventy-thirty.”
“At least.” He was teasing me.
I liked playful Sam. He was easier to deal with than intense take-no-prisoners Sam.
“I love your hair up like that,” he said next.
“You do? I thought you like it down.”
“I do.”
I released the clip holding my bun and shook the locks out. “Better?”
Sam groaned. “You’re not wearing a bra.”
“What?”
“The way your tits swayed when you shook your hair out.”
I removed the oversized sweatshirt, revealing a lace cami I often slept in.
“Fuck.”
It came with matching boy shorts, but I’d have to stand up and remove my leggings first.
“Is everything in your lingerie drawer sheer?” His eyes hadn’t left my breasts.
“Some.”
“You’re full of yummy surprises, aren’t you?” His gaze finally met mine and the heat in his eyes was scorching.
“In ways.”
“Fuck, I wish we were in person right now.” He shifted his laptop and one of his hands slid under his waistband.
“Show me.”
“What?”
“Whip out your cock and show me how much you miss me.”
He moaned my name, then set the laptop aside. I watched him slide his pants down his hips and take off his t-shirt, revealing the ab ridges I’d traced with my tongue last night.
He already glistened with pre-cum.
“Close your eyes, Sam, and pretend it’s my hand stroking you.”
His lids fell shut.
“I start slow and light, gliding my hand up and over the head and back. Once I have your attention, my other hand adds your balls into the mix.”
His left hand cupped his balls. I studied how he rolled them in his fingers.
“But you’re too desperate for much teasing and foreplay.”
He gripped his shaft and jerked off in earnest. I’d judged correctly.
“So I drop my mouth over your cock until you hit the back of my throat and suck. Hard.”
“Yes.”
“You want to come, Sam?”
“Yes.”
“Where?”
“Inside you.”
“Not yet.”
“Swallow me, Kate.”
“You want to deep-throat me? Grip my hair and fuck my mouth?”
His hand was a blur. Any second…
His hips surged and he grunted. Semen jetted onto his chest, streaming out with each grunt and contraction of his muscles until he went limp, panting for air.
“Damn,” he said.
I giggled.
“It’s not nearly that good when I’m in the shower.” He showed me a blissed-out grin.
“Is that where you usually masturbate?”
“Yeah. Least likely place to get interrupted.” He rolled away from the screen and came back with a handful of tissues.
Because you can’t lock your bedroom door when there are little kids down the hall.
“Has Candace ever walked in on you?”
“Almost.”
I laughed. “What happened?”
“She announced herself as she opened the door and I yanked the blanket over my crotch.”
“Oh god.”
He nodded. “Thankfully, she was just thirsty, so I told her to go get her cup from her bathroom and I’d be right there.” Cleaned up, he covered his lower half again and moved the computer onto his lap.
“Could she walk in on us now?”
“Yep.” He wiggled his brows in a comic way.
“Dangerous.”
“That’s how I roll, baby.”
I barked out a laugh that would make Julia Roberts proud.
He began doing the slow blink of the sleepy.
“Get some rest, Sam.”
“Hanging up on me already?”
“Neither of us got much sleep last night and we both work in the morning, so yeah.”
He yawned. “Okay. Point. Well, I know I’ll dream well now.”
“I’m sure you will. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight, Kate. I love you.”
The chat session ended.
