This scarf is just a long length of knitting in stockinette stitch, with borders in garter stitch. The sequins are sewn on afterward, using tiny beads to hold them in place so the stitching is hidden. The yarn is beautifully soft, with the luxurious touch of cashmere, and the scarf will be a joy to wear, with or without the sequins.
ESTIMATED TIME TO COMPLETE
The scarf took 10 hours to knit, plus 1 hour to sew on the sequins.

TO DECORATE
Sequins are placed randomly on each end of the scarf. To sew on sequins neatly, first make a couple of tiny stitches on the right side to secure the thread; bring the needle up through the hole in the sequin and then through a tiny bead, then over the bead and back down through the sequin hole and the scarf. If you’re placing a sequin on the wrong side of the scarf as well, do the same with a second sequin and bead; then stitch behind the sequin to bring needle out ready to sew through and secure the other holes with beads in the same way before fastening off with backstitch on the wrong side of the scarf.
• If you prefer to count the rows rather than measure your scarf, you’ll need to work 450 rows in st-st with k2 edgings.
• Save time at the end by weaving in the ends as you work, using a tapestry needle and threading the ends through the row ends on the reverse-stockinette-stitch side of the scarf.
• You can use any size sequins that you like, either matching them to the yarn color, or choosing colors to go with the rest of your outfit. If the sequins are smaller, just add more of them. If the sequins have only one hole, either in the center or at the top, you can still sew them on, using beads to hide the stitching.
• The sequins in the photos at right have a hole at the top and the bottom. Now widely available, you can choose from a range of metallic and pearlized finishes to match your yarn.
• Do not press sequins; they will curl. Press you scarf on the reverse side.
Add a touch of glitter to an exquisitely soft, generously sized scarf.
