This is an easy lace pattern. There are just two rows, and the stitch count is the same on every row. On right-side rows, each pair of yarnover increases is compensated for by working three stitches together. Every wrong-side row is purl, apart from the knitted-edge stitches. Because the side edges are knitted in, there’s almost no finishing—just weave in the yarn ends.

YOU WILL NEED
• 7 x 50 g balls (approx. 12½ oz.) of Sirdar Duet in Black, shade 745
• pair of size US 10 (6 mm) knitting needles
GAUGE
20 sts and 20 rows to 4 in. (10 cm) over patt on size US 10 (6 mm) needles. Change needle size, if necessary, to obtain this gauge.

NOTES
• Join in new yarn on the inner edge of the k4 edging. This will make it easier to hide the ends when darning them in.
• Cast on loosely so that the edge is flexible enough to wave as the stitch pattern is worked.
WRAP
Cast on 91 sts. K 2 rows.
Work in patt, as follows:
Row 1 (RS) K4, [yo, k4, sk2po, k4, yo, k1] 7 times, k3.
Row 2 K4, p to last 4 sts, k4.
These 2 rows form the patt. Cont in patt until work, laid flat, measures nearly 72 in. (182 cm), ending with a RS row. K 2 rows.
Bind off knitwise.
Weave in yarn ends.
TIPS
• If you prefer to count in rows, you’ll need to work 365 rows in pattern.
• As the wrap gets longer, roll up the lower edge and secure it with safety pins (taking care not to split the stitches when inserting them) to keep the end of the knitting out of the way and to stop it from catching on things and pulling threads.
