Thick yarn and big needles show up the stitches and make this a speedy project. The bag is knitted in three pieces: a front, a back that extends to make the flap, and a strap that also forms the gusset around the bag.
ESTIMATED TIME TO COMPLETE
The bag took about 3 hours to knit, including sewing it together.

TIPS
• If you prefer, you could work to measurements. The front should measure 10½ in. (27cm) in length, the back and flap 16 in. (40.5 cm), and the strap 49 in. (124.5 cm).
• The strap stretches a little when worn.
• You could fasten the bag flap with a brooch or a decorative button and button loop.
Moss stitch makes an interesting texture for this flap-over bag.
