TO FINISH

Fold bag in half, and join cast-on edge for base and row ends for side

seam. Cut 4 x 2¼-yds. (2-m) lengths in B, and knot ends together. Twist and double the yarn to make a cord handle. Knot the ends and trim to make tassels at each end of the cord. Sew the ends of cord to the sides of bag.

TIPS

The easiest way to double the yarn is to use the end from the inside of the ball, along with the end from the outside of the ball together. Take care to include both strands as you form the stitches.

The stripes make it easy to count the rows, as each ridge of color takes 2 rows.

For a neat finish, simply weave the yarn ends in as you knit.
