GUY MAYON WAS CONFIDENT that Dominic St. Germaine had something to do with these missing women from around the area. He had yet to convince the wife of his involvement. He wondered what such an attractive woman as herself even saw in a man like him.
The deeper he dug into St. Germaine’s past the more he became convinced the man was dirty. If his suspicions were correct, St. Germaine was part of the Mafia problem plaguing this city. If that were the case, then that would explain why the cops turned a blind eye to the missing girls’ reports. He wondered how much of this town the St. Germaine Family had on their payroll. For a blind eye to be turned on so many missing girls, the pockets must run deep.
From what he’d heard around town, there were three families that could be involved in the missing girl cases and he had yet to confirm that the Devereaux Family or Scarcelli Family was involved. Although, he received word that the FBI was indeed looking into the Scarcelli Family’s involvement in possible human trafficking. He had kept a close eye on Dominic St. Germaine and the Scarcelli Family. He hadn’t found any evidence that the Devereaux Family was involved with the missing girls, but he did let the FBI know he believed they might be part of the mob problem here. He had seen a few known drug traffickers in and out of some of their businesses. He heard a few people refer to Alfonso Scarcelli as The Mafia Prince. Then yesterday, he heard someone refer to how Dominic St. Germaine was still called The Mafia Prince and should change his nickname to Boss. His suspicions that St. Germaine was Mafia may be well founded.
His best chance of obtaining more information on Dominic St. Germaine may involve talking to his wife again. The last time they spoke, he may have broken through some of that barrier she’d built around herself regarding her husband. For a moment he saw a light bulb go off in her head. Something he said clicked with her, but what was it? She dismissed him so fast that he wasn’t sure what he said that scared her off. Could it be mentioning one of the missing girls worked at her husband’s strip club? Did she not know he owned a strip club and certain warehouses on the port?
Guy had tried to get near the warehouses on the port for the past month, but the goon squad was unusually thick there. His gut told him that was where they were hiding these girls, but without further evidence, he couldn’t be sure.
Guy was determined to find out what was happening to these girls. There was a chance he was about to stumble upon something huge, and as much as he hated to enlist the help of an innocent, bringing in Alexis St. Germaine may be his only way.
