I love the combination of salty and sweet in these.
28 caramels
3 tablespoons butter
¼ cup water, divided
1 (3-ounce) can chow mein noodles
1 cup salted peanuts
1 cup milk chocolate chips
Melt the caramels, butter, and 2 tablespoons of water in a double boiler over hot water, stirring until the caramels are melted and the mixture is smooth. Stir in the chow mein noodles and peanuts. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a large lightly greased cookie sheet.
Melt the chocolate chips with the remaining 2 tablespoons of water in a double boiler over hot water until the chips are melted, stirring until the mixture is smooth. Spoon a small amount of melted chocolate over the caramel chews. Refrigerate until the chocolate is set.
