Apple Lemonade

You can also use sugar substitute in this recipe.

2 cups sugar

6 cups water, divided

1 cup lemon juice (4 to 6 large lemons)

4 cups apple juice

Mix together the sugar and 2 cups water in a medium saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes, allowing the sugar to dissolve. Remove from the heat and pour into a gallon heat-resistant pitcher. Add the remaining 4 cups of water, lemon juice, and apple juice. This is excellent as a hot drink or served over ice.

Makes 8 to 10 servings.
