We open presents at my house on Christmas Eve morning. You know your kids are getting older when they are more interested in eating than unwrapping gifts. A recipe like this helps.
6 large eggs, beaten
2 cups milk
1 (10.75-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
10 slices white or wheat bread, cubed
1½ pounds (24 slices) bacon, cooked and crumbled
3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Combine the eggs, milk, and mushroom soup in a large bowl and mix well. Add the cubed bread, bacon, and cheese. Pour into a 9 × 13-inch baking dish. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees. Bake uncovered for 1 ½ hours.
Makes 10 to 12 servings.
