This is a lovely crispy golden-fried side that delights the senses with its looks, texture, and flavour. It is ideally cooked on a waffle or sandwich toaster, which also gives it a nice shape and form.
Ingredients
• 500 grams raw peeled then grated potato
• 500 grams mashed potato
• 500 grams plain flour
• salt and pepper
• 50 millilitres milk
• 1 egg, beaten
Method
1. Mix together grated raw potato, mashed potato, flour, salt, and pepper.
2. Add your milk and egg; mix well.
3. Pour the mixture onto a pan in small squares about the size of the rim of a mug. Cook until crisp and golden. Flip over, repeat on the other side, and serve. If you use a sandwich toaster, the cooking will be faster and easier.
