2 Measures Powers Gold Label whiskey or your preferred whiskey.
1 Measure Gomme sugar syrup. (Make by adding equal parts sugar and hot water. Stir until dissolved and allow to cool.)
Some thin slices of orange peel.
Add some ice, the whiskey and sugar syrup to a shaker. Thinly slice the very outer skin from an orange being careful not to add any of the white rind. Add several slices to the shaker and shake well for 10 seconds. Use some of the orange peel to rub the orange oil on the inside of the skin on the rim of a glass. Add ice to the glass. Strain and serve. Top with 2 or 3 twists of the orange peel.
