Cindy shot another Vvong creature as it ran toward them. She felt like she had killed scores of Vvong beasts but more seemed to take its place. Grace’s stone creatures were all destroyed. Cindy looked at the battlefield before her and saw hundreds of broken Vvong ships And Illuminati vessels. Cindy stared upwards. Marlena’s ship was fighting against a large enemy ship. It weaved around the enemy fire. Cindy knew Marlena's ship was going to be hit and there was nothing she could do. A creature screamed and dove from above. She focused her power and shot a large icicle at the Vvong beast. It pierced the creature’s tough hide, and it fell to the ground.
Grace said, “Royce, watch your side.”
A creature scrambled to him. It moved so fast. Royce barely had time to turned to his side. The Vvong insect knocked Royce off his feet with the swipe of its large pincer. Grace yelled. A large sharp rock cut the Vvong’s head off. Grace knelt down by Royce.
Cindy created a magical barrier around them. A Vvong enemy thumped against her shield.
“How’s he doing?” Cindy said.
Royce said, “I was only knocked out. I’m fine.”
“No, you’re not fine. You have a large gash on your chest,” Grace said.
Royce reverted back to his human form. His face looked pained. Cindy couldn't keep her magical barrier working indefinitely.
Cindy said, “Grace, I still need your help.”
The Vvong creatures were gathering around them and were trying to reach them. Lazarus was not going to help. Grace stood and Royce moved upwards and came close to her. They all stood looking at the Vvong creatures trying to kill them.
Cindy said, “I will lower the shield. Are you ready?”
“Yes, let's do this,” Royce said.
Cindy lowered the barrier. She sprayed a tidal wave at the creature. The Vvong creatures were pushed back. She felt a pain on her arm. A Vvong insect cut her with a shot of a laser. She lashed out with several ice spikes destroying the creature, obliterating its carapace. Green ooze splashed back. Cindy was sickened. Cindy winced as she tried to lift her left arm.
She didn't want to die. She wanted to see Lazarus one more time. A shadow came over them. A huge Vvong space vessel towered over him. It was coming straight at them. Cindy shook her head. This was going to be the end.
The underside of the large enemy ship opened and hundreds of enemy ships streamed out. Their scarlet red lights of the ships glowed. The Vvong jets came downward. Cindy couldn't see Marlena's ships or any of the Illuminati fleets.
She said, “Grace, Royce we need to leave here. We will be overrun.”
Royce said, “There is nowhere else to go.”
They moved closer to one of the large stone structures of Stonehenge.
Cindy said, “Then we make our last stand here. We will use the magic of this ancient place. You can all feel it.”
Grace said, “Yes. Let's get ready.”
Cindy started to feel stronger. “We can do this. We can repel these creatures.”

CAPTAIN MARLENA SAW Lazarus disappear and the Alpha Mages run toward the ancient site called Stonehenge. She called her soldiers to help her. Duke Volterus was still after her. She shot him several times with her magical psychic spells but it didn't slow him down. She couldn't follow Cindy and the Alpha Mages. Most of the Vvong creatures left to fight them.
She yelled, “Get back to the shuttle!”
They ran toward the ship. Duke Volterus was running after them in large jumps. The ground shook as he followed. A soldier shot back at him. They were not going to make it.

DUKE GRENDEL WATCHED as the Vvong ships swarmed over General Romo's large battle vessel. Dispute his best efforts. General Romo and his crew was going to die.
“Fire again,” he said.
The large ion canon on his ship was destroying any enemy vessels that came close to them. They were shielded by the surrounding asteroids. But the canon had a limited range and he couldn't hit anything that far away.
Duke Grendel wanted to take a smaller ship and rush out to General Romo. They couldn't communicate with him because his systems were down.
“What is his status of his ship?” He said.
The communications officer was about to respond when a bright light shot from the direction of Earth. Duke Grendel looked at the front screen. All the Vvong ships exploded in a shower of intense fire.
He said, “They did it. They did it.”

CINDY SAW THE BLAST of hot white light. It came from the very structure of Stonehenge itself. The blast washed over them but didn't harm them. She heard the sound of music, like an orchestra playing a sweet song. She was amazed as well as happy. She also felt giddy.
The Vvong creatures around them exploded in a bright light. She was blinded for several seconds. The lights were burnt in her retina for a few minutes. The power blast still reverberated for a minute and then dispersed into the sky.
Grace said, “Cindy look into the sky.”
She looked up and didn't see the Vvong ships floating in the clouds. It was clear. Cindy said wondered where Merlin and Lazarus was and hope they were fine. For some reason, she looked in the middle of Stonehenge and saw a bright round object near the entrance. It was a person inside a large crystal stone. She recognized the person in there. Running toward it, she cried with tears flowing down her cheeks.
Merlin’s voice said, “He is alive. But he needs to heal.”
“Where are you?” She said.
Merlin didn't speak back. She stopped a few feet from the crystal stone. Lazarus was standing inside it. He looked unharmed but sleeping. She ran the last few steps and place her hand on the clear surface.
She yelled, “Lazarus do you hear me?”
He didn't respond.
