Most of the images reproduced in this book are out of copyright and in the public domain. Others are publicly available but lack a clear attribution sufficient to determine a place of origin. Among these images are all those that can be dated to the mid-twentieth century, as well as the photograph of the memorial plaque at Diggers Rest and the diagram of the Immelmann turn. Still other images have been made available via the channels noted in the text: the photograph of the model rescue plane belonging to Zaharie Ahmad Shah originates from the Facebook page established in memory of him, while the screenshot of his flight simulator map appears in the Royal Malaysia Police Forensic Report detailing the official res-ponse to the disappearance of MH370. The only image not in the public domain or made available in the public interest is the photo-graph of Johnny Bègue on page 130. This image originates from Imaz Press Réunion. However, despite the publisher’s best endea-vours to seek permission to reproduce it, all enquiries remain un-answered and unacknowledged at the time of publication of this book. As such, the image appears here on the basis that, under the laws of the United Kingdom, the requirement to undertake best endeavours to seek permission has been satisfied to the fullest ex-tent possible under the prevailing circumstances. Any parties with a demonstrable interest in the rights to this image may contact the publisher in writing via www.ThisIsSplice.co.uk.
