Cinnamon Laced Oatmeal

Makes 6 Servings

Pure rolled oats make the best oatmeal, in a crock pot. Low gluten and no additives make all the difference in your choice of oats. Because oatmeal can have a bland flavor, this crock pot recipe dresses up the flavor with applesauce, cinnamon and nutmeg. Allowed to blend and simmer with these wonderful ingredients, you will not need a ton of brown sugar to enjoy the taste.

INGREDIENTS:

1 ½ cups pure rolled oats

1 ½ cups milk

5 cups water

¼ cup natural sugar substitute

½ cup unsweetened applesauce

1 ½ TBSP cinnamon

½ tsp nutmeg

½ tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS:

Using canola oil, spray a light coat of oil on the inside of the crock pot.

Mix the liquid ingredients together, along with the rolled oats, in the crock pot. Add the applesauce, sugar substitute, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and vanilla and stir.

Turn on the crock pot and put in a good 8 hours sleep. Upon rising your oatmeal will be ready to eat and your home, filled with the cinnamon aroma.
