It’s been a great privilege to once again write about the Airfix story, something to which I have been but an observer, and for most of the period covered in these pages a pretty young one at that. However, I couldn’t have told it without the unselfish help of those who actually lived the Airfix story and played such an intimate part in the events recorded.

This is their story and I thank all those who have helped me. Whether employees of Airfix or just diehard fans like me who have joined the ranks of chroniclers of the famous company’s incredible story, I’m grateful to all.

I would especially like to single out the following: Peter Allen, Ken Askwith, Adeel Belorf, Jeremy Brook, Justin Bulley, Darrell Burge, Jim Dinsdale, Ralph Ehrmann, Sue Godfrey, Mark Hesketh, Ieuan Hopkins (V&A Museum of Childhood), Stanley Lerner, Paul Morehead (www.plasticwarrior.com), Jo May-Prussak, Joannah Rye, Graham Short, Steve Smith, Edna Stallion, Helen Stallion, John Sullivan, Alice Ward, Eleanor Ward, Graham Westoll, Sarah Wood (V&A Museum of Childhood), David Wright, Mary Wright and Sue Wright.
