Acknowledgments

To be honest, I have never read the acknowledgments section of anyone’s book, but now that I know why it exists I plan to go back and read them all. It’s the part where the author shows their gratitude and thanks those people closest to them, although I’m still a little confused about whether I am supposed to thank people who helped make this book a reality like the incredible Campbell “Millennial” Schnebly, the top dog who literally got this book onto the pages, and colorful Carlye Adler, who was there every day with Campbell. And the wonderful Lindsay Edgecombe, my agent, and spirited Holly Dolce, my editor. And of course there is James Braly, who has been writing with me for six years, and Bassima Mroue, who pulled out sticky notes with chapter titles many years ago, and John Evans, who was my writing teacher at Stanford, and Joe Dworetzky, who told me the truth. Or am I supposed to thank people in my life who helped me get here to this amazing place and space I am in right now, like my brother, Gerald, and my mom and Trent and my awesome husband, Keith? If this is really about thanking people, then I have to acknowledge Ross Jones, Myles McCormick, Simon Cowell, Staci Reilly, Vicki Parotino, and the countless others who helped grow a little company into something incredibly gorgeous.
