What would life be like without sweets? As a little girl, I loved baking with my friends and still to this day I enjoy making little treats for my kids and pies for the holidays. Desserts are great in moderation (by that I mean once, maybe twice a week, not every few hours). Almost all the desserts I am sharing in this section are made with unrefined sweeteners and flours. Many are fruit-based and all contain fewer concentrated sweeteners than typical desserts. I definitely notice a difference between how I feel after a commercially prepared, overly sugary dessert and one made with more natural sweeteners.
The following recipes are easy to follow and don’t require any hard-to-find ingredients. They are my favorite kind of dessert—homey, wholesome, not perfect looking, but unmistakably delicious.
