Author Note
Sometimes an idea comes to you as a writer and you dismiss it as too complicated to write. And so it was with Lady Tregowan’s Will. I loved the idea of three young women—all strangers and down on their luck—who inherit a share in a fortune out of the blue, and who discover at the same time that they are half sisters. But I couldn’t quite see how it would work, given that—inevitably—the three women’s stories would be closely intertwined.
But the idea wouldn’t go away, and so I explored how I could make it work without too many overlaps, given that each book must be able to be read as a stand-alone story. And I’m pleased I persevered, as I’ve thoroughly enjoyed writing this first book in the trilogy, all the while with one eye on the other two stories to come.
I hope you’ll enjoy this first part of the trilogy as governess Leah earns her happy-ever-after with Lord Dolphinstone. Watch out for Beatrice’s story next (The Cinderella Heiress) followed by Aurelia’s tale (The Penniless Debutante).
