INGREDIENTS
3 ripe avocados
Juice of 1 to 2 limes
1 Fuji or Gala apple, diced
1 chipotle pepper, chopped, from canned chipotles in adobo sauce
1 tablespoon (15 mL) adobo sauce
½ cup (125 mL) chopped cilantro
Sea salt
DIRECTIONS
Peel and pit the avocados and scoop them into a medium bowl. Add the lime juice and a few generous pinches of salt. Use the back of a large fork to mash the avocado until the ingredients are incorporated but not completely smooth. Fold in the apple, chipotle, adobo sauce, and cilantro. Season to taste with more salt and lime juice as desired. Serve with tortilla chips and margaritas!

I like to make guacamole that changes with the seasons—mango in the spring, watermelon in the summer, and I especially love this version with apples in the fall. Chipotle peppers add a spicy, smoky kick.
