ARTICHOKES

Fresh artichokes take some work to prepare, but they’re oh so worth it. My number one tip for fresh artichokes: Keep them simple so you can really taste the fruits (er, vegetables) of your labor. If you’re making artichoke dip or hummus, go ahead and use canned or jarred artichokes. Save your fresh ones to eat simply with lemon and olive oil, or top them on a crostini.
