Huggins’ Triton Special 1962 650 cc

This bike is a 1962 Triton special 650 cc with a twist. The engine is a 1959 Triumph sitting on a 1964 Norton “Featherbed” frame, and it has a handmade alloy tank and fenders. The bike was built by Danny and Daniel Huggins of Triumph of Broadway in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

This amazing bike was one more in a series of great bikes brought to the studio by Daniel Huggins. The Huggins family played a big role in vintage motorcycles in the south. During our first motorcycle show at the famous Meltdown Vintage Bike Show, Eli and I discovered Triumph of Broadway, run by the Huggins family..

There are great memories associated with this bike. One in particular was the photo shoot of Sara’s “Tub” and the yearly BBQ held out at the Broadway shop. Without the support of the Huggins family and many others, the images in this book would not have been possible.
