VIRGIN MUDSLIDE Images

When you get right down to it, this Virgin Mudslide is a glitzy chocolate milkshake. It’s the perfect dessert cocktail for a night where you want to keep a clear head but don’t want to miss out on all the fun.

Makes 1 serving.

1 dash shaved chocolate (for rimming)

1 oz cream

2 to 3 scoops vanilla ice cream

1 dash Amaretto syrup

Chocolate syrup as desired

Whipped cream (garnish)

1 maraschino cherry (garnish)

1. Rim the edge of your jar with some shaved chocolate—use some of the ice cream as your binding agent.

2. Add the cream and ice cream to a blender and blend until mixed.

3. Add the Amaretto syrup and your desired amount of chocolate syrup to the blended mixture. Blend again until thoroughly mixed.

4. Pour the mudslide into your Mason jar. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with some leftover shaved chocolate. Add a maraschino cherry for a final touch and enjoy.

VARIATIONS

+ Don’t feel married to the amounts prescribed here. Adding extra cream or milk will thin out your mudslide, while adding more ice cream will thicken it up. It all comes down to personal preference, so feel free to experiment!

+ Some Virgin Mudslide recipes call for the addition of a dash of hazelnut syrup. If you’re a fan of hazelnut (especially in your coffee), try it out.
