FROZEN STRAWBERRY DAIQUIRI

The Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri is, without a doubt, the most popular drink in the daiquiri family. It isn’t even close, really. You’ll find Frozen Strawberry Daiquiris on the menu at just about any bar or restaurant you go to, but why pay outrageous prices when you can easily mix one up yourself? This is a drink best made in large batches, so gather a few friends and enjoy this summery treat together. For an extra twist, rub some strawberry on the edge of your jar and rim with sugar!

Makes 4 servings.

Sugar (for rimming)

6 oz light rum

2 oz orange liqueur

1 oz simple syrup (page 162)

2 limes (juiced)

2 cups fresh strawberries (hulled)

4 cups ice (about 1 cup per serving)

1 handful sliced strawberries (garnish)

1. Rim your Mason jar with strawberry and sugar.

2. Add all ingredients to blender (except strawberries for garnish) and blend until smooth. Be sure to test a few times to be sure that all ice and strawberries have been sufficiently blended.

3. Pour the blended cocktails into four Mason jars.

4. To dress up the presentation, slice some fresh strawberries. Either stick one or two on the edge of the jar or simply add them to the drink itself and serve with long spoons.
