Here’s something you probably never thought you’d see: a cocktail made from milk and spiced rum. Well, if you’re willing to give this unusual combination a shot, you might find you’ve got a new favorite. If you’re having a few people over and you want to show off your mixology skills, what better to serve them than a drink that will blow all of their preconceptions out of the water? It’s a smaller drink, so make sure you’re not serving it in a giant, 16 oz jar. This little cocktail packs a major flavor punch.
Makes 1 serving.
2 oz spiced rum
1 oz Irish cream
1 tsp sugar
4 oz milk
2 drops vanilla extract
1 drop almond extract
1 dusting nutmeg (garnish)
1 cinnamon stick (garnish)
1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the ingredients together. Shake vigorously until everything is thoroughly mixed.
2. No ice for this one: Strain the cocktail shaker into your Mason jar.
3. Hit the top with a little dusting of nutmeg and add a cinnamon stick for garnish. Enjoy!
VARIATION
You can make this cocktail in larger serving sizes by following the 2 parts rum, 1 part Irish cream, 4 parts milk model… but it is not recommended. Milk and rum are an unusual flavor combination, and when the quantities increase, the odds of properly balanced flavors decrease.
