Vodka and gin are the obvious liquors to pair with lemonade, but why let them have all the fun? There’s more to tequila than Margaritas, and Tequila Lemonade is proof positive. Don’t bother with any of these powdered mixes or store-bought bottles—make your own! Filling a Mason jar with homemade lemonade just feels right, and if there’s a little drop of tequila in there too? Well, that can be our little secret.
Makes 1 serving.
2 lemons (juiced)
1 tsp sugar
4 mint leaves
2 oz silver tequila
6 oz water
1 lemon wheel (garnish)
1. Squeeze two lemons’ worth of juice into your Mason jar and add the sugar. Stir until the sugar has mostly dissolved. Add your desired amount of ice.
2. Rub one of the mint leaves around the rim of the jar. Tear all of the leaves in half and add them to the jar, on top of the ice.
3. Add the tequila, then top off with water. Stir until completely mixed. Garnish with a lemon wheel and enjoy!
