Not a complicated drink, the Gin Rickey isn’t much more than gin and club soda with a hint of lime. Although the Rickey is a classic bourbon drink that originally hails from the nation’s capital, where it was created by a local bartender and named for a lobbyist, it wasn’t until the drink was made with gin that it became famous. It’s the perfect, simple gin drink to whip up for a few friends when you want to entertain without too much effort.
Makes 1 serving.
1 part gin
1/2 lime (juiced)
4 parts club soda
Lime wedge (garnish)
1. Add the gin to your Mason jar, then squeeze the juice from one half of a lime into the jar and drop the remainder in as well. Stir, then add ice.
2. Top the drink off with club soda and garnish with a lime wedge and maybe even some lime circles. Enjoy!
VARIATION
Garnish with a grapefruit twist instead of lime.
