Author’s Note

I hope you enjoyed Shadow Peak, the second installment of the Harper and Reese Thriller Series. I couldn’t have written this book without the support of my amazing beta readers, Stacie and Sue, whose comments were invaluable.

A special thanks to my friend Jodi for being my accountability partner during National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), a global event where writers challenge themselves to write a 50,000-word novel in just 30 days. With Jodi’s encouragement, I not only completed the challenge but also won (and have the t-shirt to prove it!). Her support and feedback throughout the production process were instrumental.

I’m also grateful to Meg from McIntyre Editorial Services for her insightful observations and edits. As always, Meg, you were a pleasure to work with.

This book fairly burst out of me. I loved delving into Derek’s character and immersing myself in the beautiful yet deadly world of Mount Rainier National Park. Writing from the perspective of Sydney, our fun-loving forensic botanist, was a thrilling new experience. And if you found yourself falling in love with a certain black lab, don’t worry—you’ll be seeing him again soon! I have so many story ideas for these characters and can’t wait to share them with you.

If you loved Shadow Peak, please leave a rating and review where you bought the book, and tell a friend or two! If you haven’t read the first book in the series, Cold Woods, I highly recommend starting there.
