Mama Ganuush (They/Them)
I was born without injustice
What is anguish?
While my beloved is amidst jasmine's serenity
Drinking poetry from the prophets of my kin,
Revealing love and honor.
What is humiliation?
My essence ascends,
Echoed among scholars' lexicons,
Desired in the fantasies of youth.
What is separation?
My dance confronts fate,
Narrating in the legends of art,
Swaying amidst poets' tongues.
What is paradise?
And the day kisses the night boldly,
Love's voice rises within my being,
When my beloved whispers, "Stay."
What is death?
If my time arrived,
And I'm buried beside my loved ones, Immortal.
