Herbs have medicinal value. They relieve pain, clear clogged ENT system and therefore calm any associated symptoms such as headaches. Headaches may be one way that the body tries to communicate to you that something is not right.

You may have a deficiency in a particular vitamin or mineral thus you experience a headache. Allergies also initiate headaches.  If you become ill, the body may respond by allowing a headache to ruin your day. Colds, flu and respiratory infections exhibit headaches as a symptom.

Headache Triggers

The following situations may trigger headaches.

1.  Allergies

2.  Stress

3.  Illnesses, e.g., colds and flu

4.  Deficiencies in the body

5.  Imbalances (Hormonal, Vitamin, and Mineral)

6.  Dehydration

7.  Hereditary Factors (Certain genes that run in the family)

Essential oils and herbs relieve headaches. Not all herbs relieve pain, but the ones that do, have a high success rate. There are no side effects when using herbs. This is an advantage in today’s world where many people are trying to stay healthy.  Medication and pills for headache relief usually cause a deficiency elsewhere in the body leading to a cycle of painkiller dependence.

For instance, Magnesium in low levels will result in a headache and painkillers that deplete magnesium in the body may relieve a particular headache at the expense of your future health.  Sooner or later, you will end up having a more severe headache because the body is trying to signal you of a shortage in magnesium. This cycle creates a health crisis that herbs do not create. The following herbs will not cause repeat headaches. They have been reputed as effective headache remedies.

Lavender has sedative properties. It also enhances good moods. It relieves headaches especially the ones associated with Migraines. Migraine headaches are usually hereditary. The probability of getting a drug induced mineral deficiency is little to none.
